Job Description
Job Purpose
To develop, implement, and manage occupational health and industrial hygiene programs that protect employees and contractors from workplace health hazards. The role involves identifying, evaluating, and controlling exposures to chemical, physical, biological, and other occupational health risks in compliance with regulatory requirements and company HSEQ policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Head – HSE to develop and deploy the company’s Health & Hygiene strategy.
Ensure all operations comply with statutory occupational health regulations and internal HSEQ policies.
Advise management at all levels on occupational health and industrial hygiene matters.
Establish and report quantified health and hygiene performance metrics.
Operational Responsibilities
Identify, evaluate, and control occupational health hazards including:
-Airborne chemicals
-Noise
-Radiation
-Biological agents
Support engineering teams in designing and implementing effective engineering controls for hazard elimination or reduction.
Conduct Industrial Hygiene (IH) monitoring studies and workplace contaminant assessments.
Lead and support Health Risk Assessments (HRA) across sites.
Maintain Occupational Exposure Limits (OELs) and chemical containment strategies.
Recommend, select, and manage appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Develop and implement internal occupational health programs and campaigns.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in occupational health performance.

External: Regulatory authorities, IH consultants, equipment vendors, auditors
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
Advanced knowledge of Occupational Health & Industrial Hygiene principles
Strong understanding of hierarchy of hazard controls
Proficiency in engineering controls for exposure prevention
Advanced knowledge of PPE selection and management
Experience in conducting IH monitoring and exposure assessments
Strong communication, networking, and interpersonal skills
High people-orientation and advisory capability
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 5+ years of experience as an Industrial/Occupational Hygienist
Prior experience in the chemical or manufacturing industry
Strong working knowledge of occupational exposure regulations and legal implications
Proven experience in designing engineering solutions to prevent occupational exposure
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Effective protection of employee health in line with HSE policy
Reduction and prevention of occupational health risks and future medical liabilities
Successful cross-functional collaboration to implement exposure prevention programs
