Purpose of Position
OHS Management as PMC for APCRDA Project.The position performs in line with the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System, including the BV Code of Ethics and the BV Group policy. Major Responsibilities :Β
Occupational Health Management
Develop and implement occupational health policies and programsConduct health risk assessments and workplace hazard evaluationsManage occupational health surveillance and medical monitoring programsCoordinate with occupational health professionals and medical facilitiesMonitor and control occupational diseases and work-related illnessesEnsure provision of personal protective equipment (PPE) and health monitoringMaintain health records and statistical dataResponsible for Rehabilitation Works. Safety Program Development & Implementation
Design and execute comprehensive safety management plans aligned with project objectivesEstablish safety standards, procedures, and work protocolsConduct pre-job safety briefings and site inductions for all workersPerform regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessmentsIdentify hazards and implement control measures (hierarchy of controls)Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; document findings and recommendations Training & Competency Development
Organize mandatory OHS training programs for all personnel levelsConduct specialized training (scaffold safety, working at heights, equipment operation, Maintain training records and competency certificationsDeliver toolbox talks and safety awareness campaignsEnsure contractor and subcontractor compliance with training requirements Incident Management & Reporting
Manage incident response protocols and emergency proceduresInvestigate root causes of accidents and prepare detailed reportsImplement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)Maintain incident statistics and trend analysisReport to regulatory authorities as requiredCoordinate with insurance and legal teams Regulatory Compliance & Documentation
Ensure full compliance with Indian labour laws and OHS regulationsMaintain comprehensive OHS documentation and recordsPrepare for government inspections and auditsLiaise with labour department and regulatory bodiesStay updated on changes in OHS legislation Stakeholder Communication
Conduct regular safety meetings with project management and teamsPrepare OHS performance reports and dashboardsCommunicate with workers, contractors, and management on safety mattersFoster a positive safety culture and employee engagementAddress safety concerns and grievances promptly Qualification & Experience & Technical Knowledge
BE/ β Civil; Preferable certification in Occupational Health and Safety or related fields.Candidate must have more than 10 yearsβ experience in Occupational Health and Safety Assignments. Criteria for Performance Evaluation (KPIs)
β’ Number of safety incidents (LTI, MTI, Near Miss).
β’ PTW compliance percentage.
β’ Daily/weekly safety inspection closure rate.
β’ Training hours completed per month.
β’ Contractor HSE performance score.
Skills & Competence
β’ Strong knowledge of HSE standards, IS codes, and statutory norms.
β’ Proficiency in incident investigation and risk assessment.
β’ Leadership and enforcement capability.
β’ Good communication and training skills.
β’ Ability to conduct audits and prepare compliance reports.
