Enjoy access to urban amenities alongside outdoor adventures such as hiking, skiing, and biking. Unit Overview: Work in an 18-bed Blood Cancer Unit within a well-established hospital setting. The team consists of 37 staff members, including RNs and CNAs, who foster a culture of collaboration and mutual support. Night shifts maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 3-4 to 1, ensuring manageable workloads with focused patient care. Key Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients, many with acute hematology needs. Administer medications, blood products, and electrolyte replacements safely and accurately. Assist with and monitor procedures such as lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies, and thoracentesis. Engage with patients compassionately, adapting to the unique needs of chronically ill oncology patients. Work within standing orders, providing timely interventions like fluid boluses and fever management. Comply with safety protocols for handling hazardous drugs; chemo/biotherapy administration requires certification. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Active RN license with oncology nursing experience highly preferred. Compassionate and adaptable mindset suited for a specialized oncology environment. Quick learner with the ability to manage acute patient care needs. Chemo and biotherapy certification and step-down unit experience are advantageous. Work Schedule: Night shift: 7 PM to 7 AM.
