Operation Manager (InPatient)
Job Description
The incumbent will be responsible for the management of assigned inpatient ward(s) across the continuum of care, and achieving stated outcomes in execution of strategic priorities including coordination and implementation of projects / initiatives related to existing clinical or operations systems and/or workflows so as to bring about improvement to inpatient processes, inpatient experience and operational efficiency .
Scope of Work
• Responsible for daily operations of assigned inpatient ward(s), including ward reception counter services, administrative / operational matters and partnering Ward Nurse Manager and other stakeholders to solve system and process issues.
• Work with other department stakeholders to ensure a positive experience for inpatients throughout the continuum of care.
• Responsible for devising innovative services to continually improve service levels and delight patient experience.
• Assist with the management of Patient Service Associates (PSAs), ensuring they receive appropriate induction, orientation, training and development so that they possess appropriate skills and knowledge to carry out their duties well.
• Responsible for PSA engagement and development to achieve stable, skilled and motivated workforce and achieve the desired department and organisation outcomes.
• Responsible for two-way communication between staff and management and ensure timely dissemination of information, escalation of issues and recommending solutions to problems.
• Be part of the Campus Redevelopment - Inpatient Workgroup
• Participate in committees and other tasks as assigned.
• Job rotation to other operational areas after 3 years.
Requirements
• Degree in any discipline with minimum 8 years' work experience in Healthcare industry
• Healthcare operational experience will be advantageous although not necessary
• At least 4 years of experience in managing frontline staff will be an added advantage
• Proactive with strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Team player with good interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word / Excel / Powerpoint
