Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Banyan Tree Golf Course on Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. Responsibilities Reports directly to the Golf Course Manager. Assists with Golf operations and marketing, ensuring that recreational golf programs run smoothly while also attracting new participants and keeping current members engaged. Assists in supporting the daily operations of the golf course by overseeing marketing initiatives, event planning, merchandising, and administrative communications. Assists with workflow oversight, supporting front line staff, reinforcing operational standards, and fostering a professional, customer-focused environment. Assists with developing and managing social media content calendars, photo and video materials, writing branded copy, executing seasonal campaigns, and engaging with on line followers while tracking performance metrics. Monitors website updates, digital communications, newsletters, and analytics reporting to ensure consistent branding and effective outreach. Assists with planning and promoting tournaments, leagues, and special events, coordinating logistics, sponsors, vendors, and community partners, while maintaining detailed records and post-event reports. Assists with providing work directions to NF-I Recreation Aids and knowledge of safety regulations. Administrative responsibilities include drafting internal communications, updating SOPs and training documents, assisting with operational reporting, assisting with coordinating staff meetings and training sessions, supporting new employee onboarding, and preparing documents and presentations for leadership. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Applicant must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and the public. Must have administrative experience, including preparing reports, composing correspondence, and managing organized files. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required, along with excellent written and oral communication skills for engaging with the public and all levels of management. The position also requires experience in cash handling and sales operations. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate progressive experience in golf operations and in one or more of the following fields: marketing, communications, retail, or business administration. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation. All Federal NAF employees are required by PL 104-134 to have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit. Probationary period may be required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from hiring preferences and priority consideration eligible.
