Operations Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Operations Engineer to lead and optimize our hybrid infrastructure and application ecosystem. This role requires deep technical expertise in VMware, Windows/Linux, and Java-based applications, along with strong problem-solving skills and a strategic approach to operational excellence. The Operations Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, scalability, and security of systems.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain Infrastructure

• Maintain VMware virtual environments and AWS cloud resources.
• Oversee OS-level support for Windows and Linux servers, ensuring compliance and performance.

Application & Environment Management

• Provide advanced operational support for Java-based applications (Tomcat / Spring Boot) across all environments.
• Optimize application performance and lead incident resolution for critical issues.

DevOps & CI/CD

• Architect and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Bitbucket, GitHub Actions).
• Partner with development teams to streamline deployments and enforce best practices.

Automation & Process Improvement

• Drive automation using scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python) to reduce manual effort.
• Establish operational standards and governance for efficiency and reliability.

Monitoring & Reliability

• Implement and manage monitoring solutions (e.g., Datadog) for proactive issue detection.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures for recurring incidents.

Documentation

• Maintain comprehensive documentation and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Expertise

• Good knowledge of VMware, Windows Server, and Linux distributions.
• Strong experience supporting Java applications in production environments.
• Expertise in CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
• Solid understanding of DBMS (MySQL, MSSQL) and performance tuning.
• Solid understanding for networking

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Exposure to containerization (Docker, ECS). AWS services (EC2/ECS/Lambda/RDS/CloudFront),
• Strong scripting and automation skills.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and compliance frameworks.
• From support project background

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3-6+ years of experience in IT operations.
