Job Summary
Implement the Production Fulfillment Process steps related to the fabrication of parts according to work order and customer requirements. Ensures machinery is set up, works properly, and conforms with (and can produce materials that conform with) company quality, quantity, and efficiency standards.Operate one or more non CNC controlled production machines to include but not limited to lathes, horizontal and vertical mills, saws, tape cutters, etc. Second of four levels of skilled machinist work. Operates alternately more than one type of machine tool such as grinders, millers, drill presses, lathes, etc., on machining operations of moderate complexity. Projects have some diversity in scope and work order instructions. Many duties also involve manual work and/or assembly duties that require the use of various hand tools, paint accessories, drills etc. Essential Job Functions
Operate multiple types of fabrication equipment:Set-up and operate machines in multiple families of equipment that include but are not limited to saws, manual mills, lathes, presses, routers etc. Operates tools according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts.Places and secures work pieces in proper machine table, holding device, or other appropriate surface using clamps and wrenches.Load, operate and manufacture a variety of parts using various manufacturing equipment to make custom parts according to customer orders and instructions written on Work Orders and blue printsComplete project work as needed involving the assembly of parts that require the use of hand tools, paint accessories and mechanical devicesComplete work order paperwork and demonstrate an outstanding record of quality, efficiency and productivityPerform in-process inspection according to standard proceduresMaintain count and perform packaging duties as requiredParticipate in cross training activities to become knowledgeable of equipment/process within the departmentPerform routine daily machine maintenance including cleaning up and lubricationMaintain a clean and organized work areaProvide guidance, feedback and positive behavior modeling The Gund Company culture of care:Determine if tools are undamaged and in safe condition for use Make suggestions to improve production and order processing efficiencyAssist with training other team membersFollow safety rules and quality standardsModel ethical and moral behavior consistent with the values and ideals supported by The Gund Company Requirements

Perform work independently with minimal defectsCommunicate with supervisor on work order priorityOpen to change due to emergency orders or fabrication of partsIntermediate math skills & aptitudeAbility to understand drawing and blue printsAbility to use measuring instruments accurately and effectivelyExcellent problem solving skillsAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsMust be able to work overtime as neededEducation and Experience
The job typically requires a technical degree in machining and/or little or no work experience, or equivalent.A High School Diploma or GED with prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience is required. Prior experience in a manufacturing industry is preferred.Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is may be required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The work environment is typical of most shop environments; not climate controlled and subject to outdoor weather conditions. Team members are exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting.
Frequent exposure to fumes/dust particles; may require use of respirators or other types of PPE.May come in contact with toxic or caustic chemicals.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
