Job Description

8+ years of overall database administration experience

3+ years in a lead or senior DBA role handling enterprise customers

Act as Lead DBA for Oracle, MS SQL Server, and Open-Source databases in production and non-production environments

Manage customer SLA compliance and service stability

Manage Customer satisfaction and trust

Strong customer communication and stakeholder management skills

Ability to lead teams and manage shifts in a 24x7 environment

Excellent documentation, reporting, and presentation skills

Provide L3/L4 support for critical database issues and escalations



Tech skills

Strong hands-on experience in:

Oracle Database (11g/12c/18c/19c or higher)

MS SQL Server (2012–2022)

Open-Source DBs (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB)

Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard

SQL Server Always On AG, Failover Clustering

Backup, recovery, and DR strategies

Encryption & security implementation

Experience with monitoring tools and scripting (Shell, PowerShell, SQL)

Monitor and tune database performance (SQL tuning, indexing, memory, I/O)

Proactively manage capacity planning, growth forecasting, and optimization

Analyze trends and recommend improvements to ensure stability and scalability



Implement and manage database security and encryption, including:

Oracle TDE, Wallets, and role-based access

MS SQL TDE, Always Encrypted, and certificate management

Security hardening for open-source databases



Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations across platforms

Oracle version upgrades and platform migrations

MS SQL Server in-place and side-by-side upgrades

On-prem to cloud / cross-platform migrations (where applicable)

Perform pre-migration assessments, risk analysis, and post-migration validation
