Outside Sales Representative Job Summary


We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Outside Sales Representative to focus on manual, automation, and control valve sales in Arizona. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in automation, control systems, and valve products, along with a proven ability to sell solutions across industrial markets. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, managing existing accounts, and delivering exceptional customer service to clients in industries such as oil & gas, chemical processing, power generation, and water treatment.

Outside Sales Representative Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and expand new business opportunities for automation and control valve solutions within assigned regions and industries.

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with both new and existing clients.

  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitor offerings, and market trends.

  • Present and demonstrate automation and valve solutions, tailoring offerings to meet specific application requirements.

  • Consistently meet and exceed sales targets, ensuring revenue growth and market expansion.

  • Develop a strong understanding of control valves, actuators, sensors, and automation solutions.

  • Provide technical recommendations to customers based on their application needs.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to address technical inquiries and develop tailored solutions for complex customer challenges.

  • Prepare and present sales proposals, quotations, and contracts to customers.

  • Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and contracts to effectively close sales.

  • Ensure timely follow-up on all leads, quotations, and projects to drive business growth.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, delivering outstanding customer service throughout the sales process.

  • Assist with post-sale support, including troubleshooting and product performance evaluation.

  • Conduct site visits to assess customer needs and gather feedback.

  • Work closely with internal teams such as engineering, project management, and customer support to ensure client satisfaction.

  • Provide regular sales forecasts, reports, and market insights to management.

  • Outside Sales Representative Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience will be considered).

  • 3-5 years of sales experience in automation, control systems, or valve technology.

  • Industry experience in oil & gas, power generation, water treatment, or chemical processing is a plus.

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing customer accounts.

  • Strong understanding of control valves, actuators, and industrial automation.

  • Familiarity with valve selection, sizing, and process control applications.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and customer relationships simultaneously.

  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently as well as within a team.
