Job Description

Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Vancouver, Oxygen8 is a high-growth Canadian clean technology innovator specializing in advanced HVAC systems that promote healthier indoor environments and support electrification of building systems. With a team of around 250, the company’s rapid ascent reflects growing demand for energy-efficient, decarbonized ventilation systems across commercial, institutional, and multi-family residential sectors in North America. With a mission to deliver 100% fresh, filtered air sustainably, Oxygen8 integrates smart controls, energy recovery technologies, heat-pump technology and compatibility with modern building systems into its compact, quiet, and modular products. Guided by a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and responsiveness, the organization is positioned at the nexus of health, sustainability, and building performance, earning a reputation as a disruptive force in the transition to low-carbon infrastructure.

As Oxygen8 has scaled rapidly over the past several years, the organization has reached an important inflection point where deliberate investment in operating systems, manufacturing discipline, and leadership depth can unlock the next stage of growth. To lead this evolution, the company is appointing a Chief Operating Officer to build the operational foundation required for sustained, profitable scale.

Reporting to the CEO, the COO is responsible for leading and scaling all operational aspects of Oxygen8’s business as the company transitions into its next phase of growth. Operating in a complex, engineered-to-order manufacturing environment, the COO will build the systems, processes, and leadership discipline required to support sustained growth toward $100 million in revenue and beyond, while preserving the company’s customer responsiveness, quality standards, and entrepreneurial culture.

As a core member of the executive leadership team, the COO will oversee a team of over 180 across multi-site manufacturing, supply chain, quality, ERP systems, and facilities. The role is highly hands-on and execution-oriented, requiring a leader who can translate strategic objectives into operational reality, embed lean manufacturing principles, unify fragmented systems into a coherent operating backbone, and materially improve margin, throughput, and on-time delivery performance. The COO will also play a key role in preparing the organization for future financing and long-term partnerships through operational credibility and discipline.

Ideal candidates will bring a track record of senior operational leadership within high-growth, multi-site custom manufacturing environments. They will be deeply versed in modern manufacturing practices, facility expansion, cross-border supply chain management, with a strong grasp of how operational excellence drives financial performance. A datacentric, collaborative, hands-on leader, the COO will inspire accountability and continuous improvement across teams while fostering alignment between operations, engineering, and commercial functions. Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and talent development skills are essential, as is the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, entrepreneurial setting.

Based in Vancouver or Toronto, this role offers the opportunity to live and lead in North America’s most liveable and economically vibrant cities. With its mix of global connectivity, natural beauty, and a deep talent pool, both cities cumulatively provide the ideal backdrop for both professional impact and personal fulfilment. For a seasoned operational executive seeking to shape the trajectory of a mission-driven growth company at the forefront of clean technology, this is a uniquely compelling opportunity.

This is a newly created position. Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience, skills, and overall fit for the role, and will include a base salary, performance-based bonus, and long-term incentive component.
