As a Pastoral Support Officer, you will work closely with pupils, families, and school staff to provide targeted support, monitor progress, and contribute to positive outcomes for students.

Secondary schools across Gateshead are recruiting a Pastoral Support Officer to work with pupils requiring additional emotional, behavioural, or attendance-related support. This Pastoral Support Officer role plays a key part in helping students remain engaged with education and school routines.

Key responsibilities:


  • Supporting pupils with behaviour, wellbeing, and attendance
  • Working with students on a one-to-one or small-group basis
  • Liaising with pastoral teams, teachers, and external agencies
  • Supporting students during lessons and unstructured times
