Under the supervision and direction of the Medical Director of the Laboratory and/or other licensed Pathologist, the Pathologists’ Assistant (PA) prepares and performs the gross examination and dissection of anatomic pathology specimens. Prepares tissue for pathological tests including frozen section diagnosis, cytology specimens, muscle biopsies, ACE specimens, and renal biopsies. Photographs gross and microscopic specimens and assists in preparation of educational conferences. Performs postmortem examinations (<5 year). Addresses daily QAs and monthly QA Reports. Assist with gross description, dissect surgical specimens and prepare tissue for processing. Obtain biological specimens for analysis and perform special procedures.
Pay range: $60 - $90 per hour.
