Payroll Specialist

Function: Global Shared Services (GSS)
Location: Mumbai | Work Mode: Hybrid
Shift: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Reporting to: Payroll Team Lead

Role Overview

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurate, timely, and compliant end-to-end payroll processing for assigned countries. This role partners with Payroll Vendors, HR, and Finance teams to deliver high-quality payroll services and an excellent employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for supported markets in line with payroll calendars

  • Ensure accurate data entry, validation of gross-to-net results, and final payroll approvals

  • Coordinate payroll closure activities including GL postings, treasury funding, payslips, and statutory filings

  • Deliver payroll services aligned to SLAs, KPIs, and compliance standards

  • Provide Level-2 payroll support and manage escalations with vendors and stakeholders

  • Mitigate payroll risks related to SOX, data privacy, and security controls

  • Prepare payroll reports, dashboards, reconciliations, tax updates, and year-end activities

  • Support audits, testing, and ad-hoc reporting requirements

  • Maintain payroll documentation and support training and business continuity

  • Drive continuous improvement, automation, and standardization initiatives

  • Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3–5 years of payroll experience (multi-country exposure preferred)

  • Experience with payroll systems such as Workday or ADP preferred

  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent attention to detail, prioritization, and multitasking abilities

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, global environment
