Provide advanced nursing care in a fast-paced Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) supporting critical pediatric patients with a variety of complex medical conditions. This contract opportunity offers a chance to practice specialized skills in a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center with a supportive interdisciplinary team devoted to high-quality patient care. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a high-acuity Pediatric ICU setting. Current RN licensure with BLS and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications. Proficient in EPIC electronic medical records. Experience with critical care equipment including Artic Sun, EVDs, Camino devices for ICP monitoring, Belmont Rapid Infuser. Skilled in management of ventilators, tracheostomies, invasive lines (ART lines, CVP), vasoactive drip titration, and bedside procedures alongside providers. Competency to float within pediatric intensive care subspecialties such as CVICU and NICU. Strong critical thinking and communication skills within a multidisciplinary team environment. Responsibilities and Duties: Deliver comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care for critically ill pediatric patients. Monitor, assess, and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions using specialized equipment and protocols. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and support staff to develop and implement individualized care plans. Maintain compliance with infection control and sterile techniques. Participate in floating assignments as needed to other pediatric units including Cardiovascular ICU and Neonatal units. Facilitate smooth patient discharges and family education. Schedule/Hours: Contract position. Schedule cycles every 6 weeks. No mandatory call for travelers.
