Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A pediatric intensive care role is open for an experienced Registered Nurse with expertise in high-acuity PICU settings. This contract opportunity is based in Mooresville, NC, and suits RNs who thrive in fast-paced, specialized environments. Responsibilities include providing care to a diverse pediatric patient population with diagnoses ranging from respiratory issues to complex surgical and medical conditions such as trauma, DKA, seizures, transplants, and blood disorders. Patient ratios typically range from 1:1 to 2:1 depending on acuity. Nurses must efficiently manage critical care interventions, including vasoactive drips, invasive lines, ventilator support, and bedside procedures in collaboration with providers. Flexibility to float to Pediatric CVICU as needed is required. Key Qualifications and Skills: Active RN license with BLS and PALS certifications Minimum 2 years of pediatric ICU experience in a high-acuity setting Proficient with EPIC EMR system Experience with specialized equipment: Artic Sun, Belmont Rapid Infuser, Camino ICP monitoring, Alaris & Medfusion pumps Expertise in managing critical care devices such as EVDs, invasive vascular lines, ventilation, feeding tubes, and sedation drips Competence in sterile and aseptic techniques and bedside nursing interventions Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including intensivists, respiratory therapists, and APPs Schedule & Environment: Contract position with a typical schedule cycle every 6 weeks No on-call for travelers; possible float to other pediatric units as needed Orientation includes a two-day departmental overview Free parking and uniform scrub color navy Mooresville, NC, offers a welcoming community with a balanced lifestyle, combining suburban comfort and proximity to vibrant city amenities.
