Function of Position:
Reporting to the Director of Learning Support Systems, Peer Tutors are current MCC students who work with other students to help them to develop effective learning strategies and to become self-regulated learners. These tutors help students with discipline-specific content.
Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:
Primary Functions:
+ Foster the development of independent, intentional learners;
+ Help students understand and use effective learning strategies
+ Provide tutor assistance in subject areas in one-on-one and group settings
+ Information & Computer Technologies (CRC, CPT, CSC, SCR, and OFT courses)
+ Work within the ICT Resource Center (09-264) to support in-person and remote students
+ Develop and nurture rapport with students, peers, and faculty
+ Attend training activiti...
