Are you an energetic and forward-thinking People & Culture professional who thrives in dynamic environments?

If so, we would love you to join Mercedes College. We are seeking a talented individual for a permanent part-time role (0.8 FTE) working 30 hours per week.

*Based on your knowledge, skills, and experience, appointment may be made at either the ESO Grade 4 or Grade 5 level. For appointment at Grade 4, applicants must be a recent graduate with a tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.

You will play a key role in supporting the effective operation of the College’s People and Culture functions, contributing fresh ideas to people processes and systems that reflect the College’s commitment to excellence.

This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail who enjoys supporting people operations and key stages of the employee lifecycle. You will contribute to continuous improvement activities and assist with the practical refinement of people‑focused practices across the College.

Working closely with staff and College leadership, you will provide high‑quality administrative and operational support, using your skills to enable efficient workflows and contribute to a well‑supported, engaging workplace environment.

Unleash Your P&C Powers

  • Strategic Alignment: Work collaboratively with College leadership to support the alignment of People and Culture initiatives with the College’s vision, contributing to the development and implementation of people‑related priorities.
  • Talent Acquisition and Onboarding: Attract, recruit, and onboard top talent, creating a passionate and high-performing workforce that drives our mission forward.
  • Employee Wellbeing and Development: Support the coordination of employee wellbeing initiatives and professional learning activities, contributing to a positive, supportive, and growth‑focused staff culture.
  • Process Improvement and Systems: Use project coordination skills and ICT platforms to support the review and streamlining of People and Culture processes, improving efficiency and consistency across operations.
  • Employee Relations and Compliance: Provide guidance and practical support in employee relations and compliance matters, contributing to a respectful, supportive, and high‑performing workplace environment.
  • Training and Capability Development: Support the coordination of essential training programs, helping ensure staff are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to succeed in their roles.
  • Community Engagement and Professional Learning: Immerse yourself in College activities and ongoing professional learning, contributing to a connected College community and the continuous strengthening of People and Culture practices.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo screening requirements and provide - Certificates and Clearances – Evidence of qualifications, Working with Children Check, First Aid Certificate (HLTAID012), and RRHAN-EC training (Fundamentals, Masterclass, and Refresher Certifications).
