Job Summary
The Perfumer is responsible for creating, developing, and refining fragrances for fine perfumes, Eau de Toilette (EDT), Eau de Parfum (EDP), and deodorant products . This role combines creative artistry with technical expertise to translate briefs into commercially viable, high-quality fragrance compositions while ensuring regulatory compliance, performance, and brand alignment.
Key Responsibilities
Fragrance Creation & Development
- Create original fragrance formulations for fine fragrance, EDT, EDP, and deodorant applications
- Interpret creative briefs, market trends, and brand positioning into olfactive concepts
- Modify and optimize fragrance formulas based on internal evaluation, client feedback, and performance testing
- Develop fragrances across multiple olfactive families (floral, woody, oriental, fresh, gourmand, etc.)
Technical & Application Expertise
- Adapt fragrance compositions for different bases and formats (alcohol-based perfumes, deodorant systems, etc.)
- Ensure fragrance stability, longevity, diffusion, and performance in various applications
- Work closely with evaluation, application, and R&D teams to ensure optimal product performance
- Maintain accurate formula documentation and ingredient traceability
Regulatory & Quality Compliance
- Ensure compliance with IFRA standards, local and international regulations
- Select ingredients considering safety, sustainability, cost, and availability
- Support quality control by troubleshooting fragrance-related issues
Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and product development teams
- Participate in fragrance presentations, evaluations, and client meetings
- Support fragrance briefs with olfactive descriptions and storytelling
Market & Trend Awareness
- Monitor fragrance market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive launches
- Research new aroma chemicals, naturals, and innovative fragrance technologies
Required Qualifications
- Degree or formal training in Perfumery, Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or related field
- Professional training from a recognized perfumery school is preferred
- Proven experience in fine fragrance and/or deodorant fragrance development
- Strong olfactive skills and fragrance memory
- Knowledge of fragrance ingredients, raw materials, and blending techniques
