Role Purpose and Impact:
As a PGT English Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the minds and futures of our students. Your expertise in English literature and language will foster critical thinking, enhance communication skills, and instill a passion for reading and writing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that engage students and cater to various learning styles.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Create a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and critical thinking.
- Facilitate discussions on literary works, encouraging students to analyze themes, character development, and stylistic choices.
- Guide students in developing strong writing skills across different genres, including narrative, expository, and persuasive writing.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to enhance curriculum development and refine instructional strategies.
- Participate in professional development workshops and contribute to school initiatives to support student learning.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with fellow teachers, administrative staff, and parents to create a cohesive educational experience for students, sharing insights and resources to support student success.
Requirements:Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field.
Experience Requirements:
- 2-10 years of teaching experience in a similar role, preferably at the secondary level.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development and lesson planning.
- Proficiency in classroom management techniques.
- Excellent command of grammar, vocabulary, and literature analysis.
Soft Skills:
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, creativity, and adaptability in teaching methods.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Certifications:
- Teaching certification or licensure is preferred.
