Job Description

  • JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE Performs the duties of Pharmacy Intern as prescribed by state and federal statutes, as well as Samaritan Health Services policies. Prepares and dispenses medication, assesses clinical status of patients (neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics). Educates and counsels patients regarding medication therapies under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Performs a broad range of technical and clinical support functions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
  • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Elm Street Pharmacy is a community pharmacy located next to Albany General Hospital. The pharmacy is open to any member of the public. The primary role of this pharmacy is to dispense community patient prescriptions. They also offer immunizations, medication management services, Hospice prescriptions, and medication assistance programs.
