PHP Developer

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Product Engineer with 3-4 years of experience specializing in PHP development,

primarily using Laravel frameworks for building scalable backend systems and web applications. This role

owns end-to-end feature development, from API design and database optimization to frontend

integration, while also handling WordPress customizations, theme development, and plugin extensions.

ROLE EXPECTATIONS:

● Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Laravel, ensuring high

performance, security, and scalability for enterprise-grade applications.

● Build and optimize database schemas, queries, and migrations with MySQL/PostgreSQL,

integrating seamlessly with Laravel's Eloquent ORM.

● Customize and extend WordPress sites, including theme development, plugin

creation/customization, and performance tuning for client-facing portals.

● Implement full-stack features, incorporating modern frontend technologies (HTML/CSS/JS,

Vue.js/React) with Laravel backends for responsive user experiences.

● Collaborate with product and design teams to translate requirements into technical

specifications, wireframes, and iterative prototypes.

● Write unit/integration tests, implement CI/CD pipelines, and conduct code reviews to maintain

code quality and deployment reliability.

● Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing PHP/WordPress codebases, addressing performance

bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities.

● Document technical implementations, APIs, and deployment processes to enable smooth

handoffs and team scalability.

QUALIFICATIONS:

● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, with 3-4 years of hands-on

experience as a PHP developer.

● Strong proficiency in PHP frameworks, particularly Laravel (routing, middleware, queues,

authentication, etc.).

● Practical exposure to WordPress development, including custom themes, plugins, hooks, and

REST API integrations.

● Solid experience with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and advanced SQL for

data-intensive applications.

● Familiarity with Git version control, Composer, Laravel Artisan, and basic DevOps practices

(Docker, basic CI/CD).
