Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced PHP Technical Lead to spearhead the development of our scalable web applications. You will be responsible for the architectural integrity, code quality, and technical strategy of our core platforms. As a Tech Lead, you will bridge the gap between complex business requirements and high-performance technical solutions, leading a team of developers in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
● Architecture & Design: Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure backend services using PHP and the Laravel framework.
● Technical Leadership: Mentor junior and mid-level developers, conduct thorough code reviews, and establish engineering best practices.
● Database Management: Optimize complex My SQL queries and design efficient database schemas for high-traffic applications.
● Dev Ops & Infrastructure: Oversee application deployment and environment management using Docker and AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda).
● Strategy: Work closely with Product Managers to translate business goals into technical roadmaps and manageable sprints.
● Performance Tuning: Identify bottlenecks in the application stack and implement caching, indexing, and architectural improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
● Experience: 7+ years in professional web development, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior role.
● Core PHP: Expert-level knowledge of Modern PHP (8.x+) and Deep understanding of Laravel (Service Providers, Middleware, Eloquent, Queues).
● Database: Advanced My SQL skills, including performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
● Containerization: Proficiency with Docker and Docker Compose for local development and production environments.
● Cloud (AWS): Proven experience managing infrastructure on AWS, including VPCs, Load Balancers, and CI/CD pipelines.
● Soft Skills: Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience with Python or AI/ML integration (given your current project focus).
● Knowledge of LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability) or Moodle integration.
● Certifications in AWS (Solutions Architect) or Laravel.
