Job Description

Actual pay rate will be calculated based on relevant years of experience and education/certification requirements.
ROLE SUMMARY
Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, performs direct patient care activities using a variety of modalities and/or therapeutic procedures designed to restore loss of muscle strength, coordination and body alignment, to control pain and to improve movement and function.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Supports and fosters personalized patient care, incorporating cultural, ethnic, and religious or age specific needs of the patient.
2. Provides physical therapy treatments to patients according to the plan of care developed by the Physical Therapist.
3. Performs treatment in a safe, timely manner according to established protocol and practice guidelines.
4. Assists the Physical Therapist when performing tests, evaluations and complex treatment procedures.
5. Observes records, and reports the conditions, patient reactions and responses related to assignments.
6. Instructs patient and family/other caregiver in exercise programs, equipment and therapeutic procedures to be continued following discharge as directed by the Physical Therapist.
7. Meets established productivity expectations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education: Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy Assistant required.
Experience: Previous experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant in designated specialty preferred. At least 2 years’ experience required for Home Health/Hospice Physical Therapist Assistant.
Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Washington State (DOH) Physical Therapist Assistant licensure required. American Heart Association BLS required. Affiliation with a national professional association preferred. Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance required for Home Health/Hospice Physical Therapist Assistants.
