Job Description


We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Physical Therapy Assistant, Per Diem - Physical Therapy / Hospital.

In this role, the successful candidate Works as part of a team to provide physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of the Physical Therapist. Provides appropriate therapy to promote the improvement of mobility, functional ability, and quality of life.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Implements appropriate interventionstreatment as indicated by the patient's functional status, diagnosis, and age in conjunction with the supervising therapists established plan of care.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and timely documentation reflecting the interventions and education provided, interdisciplinary communication, and plan of care.
  • Interacts and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes and health care goals. Provides clinical supervision to Rehabilitation Aides.
  • Monitors patient response to treatment and modifies the plan of care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
  • Provides patient, family, and clinician education regarding the patient s functional status and plan of care.
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a Associate's Degree Physical Therapy Assistant (Commission on Accredidation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) approved PTA program). Current and valid NYS Physical Therapy Assistant license and registration or limited permit. Current and valid BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association - Inpatient facility only. Excellent communication (both oral and written) skills. Basic computer skills..

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Current and valid BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association - Outpatient facility only. 1- 2 years Hospital (Inpatient) or Orthopedic (Outpatient) Rehabilitation setting.

    Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
