Physician Assistant - Orthopedic Physician Practice

CHPP–GSH Orthopedics at Bayshore is seeking a skilled and motivated Physician Assistant to join our high-volume, patient-centered orthopedic practice. This role supports a dynamic team of orthopedic specialists who provide comprehensive care across trauma, general orthopedics, hand surgery, and sports medicine. The ideal candidate is a confident clinician with strong orthopedic experience and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.

Our Bay Shore orthopedic team includes four experienced attending physicians:

Dr. Christopher G. Larsen

Dr. John Lee

Dr. Jesse Riker

About Dr. Christopher G. Larsen – Orthopedic Surgeon & Hand Specialist

Dr. Christopher G. Larsen, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand surgery, trauma, and general orthopedic conditions. He is an attending orthopedist in Bay Shore, New York, and is affiliated with Good Samaritan University Hospital.

Dr. Larsen completed his Hand Surgery Fellowship at New York University (NYU) School of Medicine in 2023, where he received advanced training in complex hand, wrist, and upper extremity care. Prior to fellowship, he completed both his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency (2022) and General Surgery Residency (2018) at North Shore University Hospital.

He received his medical degree from the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in 2017 and has been in practice between 6–10 years, bringing a strong blend of surgical expertise, clinical judgment, and patient-focused orthopedic care.

Dr. Larsen is recognized for his thoughtful, collaborative approach and plays a key role in the high-quality musculoskeletal care delivered at CHPP–GSH Orthopedics at Bay Shore.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive orthopedic evaluations, including histories, physical exams, and follow-up assessments

Interpret diagnostic studies including X-ray, MRI, CT, and laboratory results

Perform in-office orthopedic procedures such as:

Joint injections and aspirations

Casting, splinting, fracture care

Wound care and dressing management

Suture and staple removal

Manage documentation, treatment plans, patient education, and care coordination

Collaborate closely with orthopedic physicians to optimize clinical flow and patient outcomes

Required Qualifications

Physician Assistant (PA) – NCCPA certified

Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited program

Master’s degree required

ACLS and BLS required

DEA certification

Ability to practice with appropriate autonomy in an orthopedic setting

Preferred Experience

5+ years of orthopedic experience strongly preferred

Candidates with orthopedics-focused training or rotations will be considered

New graduates accepted if orthopedic experience was part of training



Salary Range

USD - USD /Hr.
