Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Physiotherapist to join the Inpatient Physiotherapy team at Northern Health.  

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north. 

Services are provided through our six main campuses: 

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals and Kilmore District Hospital.  In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg. 

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity exists for a Grade 3 Physiotherapist with an interest in gerontology to join the Inpatient team at Northern Health. 

The Grade 3 Physiotherapist has responsibility for the organisation, implementation and supervision of physiotherapy care at Bundoora Centre. Through their clinical expertise they will have a leading role in delivering a physiotherapy service on the Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) wards with primary caseload on Ward 1, ensuring excellence in clinical care, promotion of quality, education of staff and students and team and program development.

This role will also be involved in providing physio service/support at Kilmore District Hospital and Ian Brandt Residential care (IBRC) as required. This opportunity will suit an experienced physiotherapist with sound clinical skills in the area of Gerontology who has a strong commitment to quality patient care. 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A background which includes significant clinical experience resulting in high level of skill in gerontology 
  • Experience in the management of clients in the subacute setting 
  • Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills including being able to consult and collaborate with other health professionals to provide integrated care. 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and initiative in developing and promoting clinical care. 
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills  
  • Experience supervising physiotherapy students and junior staff
