Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A contract opportunity is available for an experienced Pediatric Intensive Care Registered Nurse in Charlotte, NC. This role offers the chance to provide critical care in a fast-paced, Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and Teaching Hospital setting. Responsibilities: Provide high-acuity nursing care for pediatric patients with complex medical and surgical conditions such as respiratory issues, trauma, DKA, seizures, neurosurgical care, renal failure, orthopedics, transplants, and blood disorders. Monitor and manage critical care equipment including ventilators, tracheostomies, invasive lines (arterial, CVP), feeding tubes, chest tubes, and various infusion pumps. Titrate vasoactive drips and manage sedation, analgesic drips, and patient-controlled analgesia. Perform bedside procedures in collaboration with providers and assist with patient discharge. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including intensivists, residents, APPs, respiratory therapists, and support staff to ensure comprehensive patient care. Float to Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU as needed, demonstrating flexibility across units. Qualifications: Current RN license. Minimum 2 years of strong high-acuity Pediatric ICU experience. BLS and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required. Proficiency with EPIC EMR and experience with critical care technologies such as Artic Sun, EVDs, Camino device, Belmont Rapid Infuser, Alaris and Medfusion pumps. Ability to manage complex critical care interventions with confidence. Schedule: 26-week contract with potential for 48 hours per week guaranteed. No call; rotation scheduled every six weeks.
