This nursing opportunity offers a dynamic environment in a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center focused on high-acuity critical care. Located in Mooresville, NC, this contract assignment is ideal for Registered Nurses with Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) expertise who thrive in fast-paced, complex medical settings. The position involves care for patients ranging from respiratory and trauma cases to neurosurgical and transplant care, requiring strong clinical skills and familiarity with advanced pediatric critical care technology. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Minimum of 2 years in high-acuity Pediatric ICU nursing Comfort in managing a fast-paced, critical care environment Experience with invasive line management, vasoactive drip titration, ventilator and trach management, and advanced monitoring devices Proficient with EPIC electronic medical records system Competency in handling diverse pediatric patient needs including trauma, neurosurgical, renal failure, and transplant cases Ability to float to Pediatric CVICU and other pediatric units as needed Current RN licensure with BLS and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients in a 24-bed PICU with patient ratios from 1:1 to 2:1 depending on acuity Manage critical care equipment such as Belmont Rapid Infuser, Alaris and Medfusion pumps, and ICP monitoring devices Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including intensivists, APPs, and in-house residents Assist with bedside procedures and support patient discharge planning Maintain sterile techniques and appropriate documentation in EPIC Location:Mooresville, NC, is a vibrant community known for its welcoming atmosphere and excellent quality of life.
