Provide expert pediatric critical care in a fast-paced, Level 1 Pediatric Trauma environment with a focus on high acuity patient needs. This 26-week contract opportunity (with possible 48-hour/week guarantee) based in Concord, NC, is ideal for experienced Pediatric ICU nurses ready to manage complex cases including respiratory issues, trauma, neurosurgical conditions, transplants, and more. Key Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients with an average patient census of 21-23. Manage invasive lines, vasoactive drip titration, ventilators, tracheostomies, feeding tubes, and bedside procedures. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including intensivists, APPs, RTs, and residents. Utilize Epic EMR and operate advanced equipment such as Artic Sun, Belmont Rapid Infuser, and Camino monitoring devices. Float competently to Pediatric CVICU and other pediatric units as required. Maintain sterile and aseptic techniques while providing patient care. Participate in discharge planning and patient education. Qualifications & Experience: Current RN licensure with BLS and PALS certification. Minimum 2 years of strong, high-acuity Pediatric ICU experience. Proven competency in critical care skills, including ventilator management, CRRT, invasive line care, sedation management, and pediatric emergency procedures. Familiarity with Epic EMR system and critical care equipment essential. Ability to adapt to fast-paced, multidisciplinary hospital settings with teamwork, trust, and respect.
