A Pipe Welder is responsible for assembling, installing, and repairing piping systems using various welding processes. This role requires strong technical skills, precision, and adherence to safety and quality standards in industrial, commercial, or marine environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding procedures.
Fit, weld, and assemble pipes and related components using SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and/or FCAW processes.
Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, beveling, and cleaning pipe surfaces.
Perform welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping systems.
Conduct visual inspections and ensure welds meet code requirements (ASME, AWS, NAVSEA, etc.).
Install pipe supports, hangers, valves, and associated equipment.
