Piping & Layout Engineer

Role Definition

The resource will be part of an Oil and Gas project (Floaters) as System & Layout Engineer conducting the following activities:

ACTIVITIES:

•Hull layout development, specifically related to piping and equipment and hull constraints;

• Drawing up critical piping routing from process diagrams and plot plan and elevation plans considering constraints such as: accessibility, maintainability, safety, thermal gradients, material costs;

• Counting of piping materials based on P&ID and plot plan;

• Interpretation of technical specifications identifying critical aspects;

• Planning activities, commenting on project schedules, delegating tasks to co-workers and continuously monitoring progress

• Supervision of piping engineering activities produced by external subcontractors or other Saipem engineering centres.

• Collaborate with naval architect, maintenance and operations teams to ensure adequate design;

• Solve hull tanks interference;

• Handling design knowledge for offshore Oil & Gas Projects.

• Participate in 3D Model reviews with client and propose solutions to problems;

• Knowledge of rules and requirement for ship classification (RINA, DNV, ABS or equivalent)

• Liase with Mooring system and risers from subsea interface

• Define Engine Room, Cargo/Ballast tank configuration and interface, including ventilation pipe/trunk

Qualification

MAIN SKILLS:

• Engineering degree;

• Strong Engineering experience in EPCI projects with complex interfaces between various entities;

• Strong leadership and communication;

• Familiarity with industry specifications, codes, and standards applied in Oil and Gas Engineering;

• Competent with Microsoft office program: Words, Excel, PowerPoint. Good knowledge of 3D software (E3D, S3D or equivalent as well as Navisworks) ;

• Fluency in English;

• Italian speaker is a plus.

Conditions

The Engineering Project will be performed in our Client’s premises (Milano - Italy) with eventual missions to other Engineering premises if required by the project.
