Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Developer, Senior Developer, or Lead (PL1) to join our dynamic IT team within a globally recognized insurance technology organization headquartered in Germany and operating across 26 countries. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable mainframe-based applications that support critical business operations and deliver seamless experiences to millions of internal and external users. The ideal candidate will bring strong PL1 programming expertise and a proven track record in mainframe environments, contributing to innovation while ensuring system reliability and performance.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality PL1 code within mainframe environments.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions aligned with business requirements.
  
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS applications.
  
• Ensure code adheres to established standards, best practices, and security protocols.
  
• Participate in system analysis, unit testing, and integration testing processes.
  
• Support production environments by resolving critical issues and ensuring system stability.
  
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through innovation and process optimization.
  

Requirements

Requirements:

• 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in PL1 programming.
  
• Strong expertise in mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS.
  
• Proven ability to write efficient, maintainable, and scalable code in high-volume transactional environments.
  
• Experience in debugging, performance tuning, and problem resolution in production systems.
  
• Familiarity with SDLC processes and version control tools.
  
• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
  
• Willingness to work on-site at the Hiranandani Gardens, Powai, Mumbai office.
  

Requirements
Adhere to security and control, and change control processes Design, develop and maintain Mainframe PL/I, C and DB2 stored procedures to meet support and/or project requirements. Learn and support various custom frameworks (C based) Interface with business and IT teams to understand business requirements and translate business requirements into formal technical requirements and application code. Work with IT support teams (DBA, server teams) to ensure support and project requirements are developed and successfully implemented
