Planner I (Jig Design)

Planner I (Design Build - Jig Design) role at Seaspan ULC.

Job Description

• Produce jig designs, plans & drawings in line with Block Build Strategies to facilitate manufacturing assemblies within the relevant workstations and stages of construction.
• Liaise with lifting and turning team for jig structural analysis and approval.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Up to 2 years of experience in planning and production control in a heavy industrial/manufacturing environment. Experience in shipbuilding industry is a definite asset.
• Experience drafting and designing jigs is highly desirable.
• Understanding of shipbuilding strategy concepts, manufacturing processes and techniques.
• Technical skills with ability to read blueprints/drawings.
