Job Description – Planning Engineer (Electrical – Industrial Project)
About the Role
To plan, monitor, and control electrical works for a large industrial project by developing detailed schedules, tracking progress, coordinating with execution teams, and ensuring timely project delivery within approved timelines and budgets.
Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Scheduling
- Prepare detailed project execution schedules (Master Schedule, Look-ahead Plans, Weekly & Daily Plans).
- Develop Electrical work schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project.
- Identify critical activities and project milestones.
- Monitor schedule adherence and propose recovery plans for delays.
- Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Track daily, weekly, and monthly progress of electrical works.
- Prepare progress reports, dashboards, and MIS for Project Head & Management.
- Coordinate with site execution teams for actual vs planned progress.
- Update schedules based on site feedback and client inputs.
- Coordination & Interface Management
- Coordinate with Execution, Billing, Procurement, QA/QC, Safety, and subcontractors.
- Align material delivery schedules with site requirements.
- Support planning during client meetings and reviews.
- Interface with civil and other MEP teams for integrated planning.
- Resource & Productivity Planning
- Plan and optimize manpower, equipment, and material resources.
- Monitor productivity norms and highlight variances.
- Assist in subcontractor planning and deployment strategies.
- Billing & Forecast Support
- Support billing teams with billing milestones and work-completion planning.
- Assist in monthly billing forecasts and cash-flow projections.
- Track planned vs achieved billing quantities.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain proper planning documentation, logs, and revisions.
- Ensure planning inputs align with approved drawings, BOQs, and work orders.
- Support audits and management reviews with planning data.
Qualifications
- B.E / B.Tech – Electrical Engineering OR Diploma – Electrical Engineering
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems (HT/LT, cable laying, panels, earthing, lighting, utilities).
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 / MS Project.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (tracking, dashboards, formulas).
- Familiarity with EPC project workflows.

- Ability to work independently at project site.
- Proactive approach towards deadline management.
Pay range and compensation package
- Salary: Up to ₹75,000/- Gross per month (based on experience & capability)
- PF: As per statutory norms
- Accommodation: Company provided at site
- Traveling Facility: Provided (as per project policy)
