Company Profile: Our client is into glass manufacturing industry.
Job Objective:
Lead HR and Industrial Relations (IR) at the plant level, ensure smooth workforce operations, maintain statutory compliance, drive employee engagement, and support productivity, business goals and maintain harmonious Employee relationships at plant; To ensure safety of employees and ensure all statutory compliances related to safety at the unit.
Key Responsibilities
Financial
- Contribute to the planning process for the plant by giving inputs on HR, IR and safety, admin etc. related costs and ensure adherence to the assigned budget
- Ensure adherence to the manpower plan for the plant by all departments to drive saving in manpower costs by redeploying excess manpower and enhancing operational efficiency-
- Plan manpower needs with Plant Head.
- Coordinate hiring with Corporate HR and ensure timely onboarding.
- Maintain accurate job descriptions for all roles.
- Anchor cost minimization initiatives through effective negotiations with recruitment consultants, training agencies, and other external agencies
Process
- HR Operations & Employee Engagement-

- Implement company-level HR policies at the plant.
- Run engagement initiatives such as safety week, events, and communication sessions.
- Manage payroll inputs, attendance, leave, and disciplinary processes.
- Statutory Compliance-
-
- Ensure full compliance with labour laws (Factories Act, CLRA, PF, ESI, Bonus Act, etc.).
- Submit statutory returns on time and maintain all registers.
- Performance Management & Talent Development-

- Implement PMS as per corporate guidelines.
- Support training, skill development and internal promotions.
- Track employee engagement and drive action plans.
- Ensure the onboarding & induction process for the new joinees at the plant as per the HR policy.
Internal Customer
- HR Systems, Processes & Audits-

- Implement HR best practices and support HR automation/HRMS.
- Provide MIS reports, maintain documentation, and support internal audits.
- Team Leadership-

- Manage and develop the HR/IR team at the plant.
- Build a culture of transparency, discipline, and high performance.
- Industrial Relations & Contract Labour Management-

- Maintain harmonious union relations and support wage negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with Standing Orders and IR policies.
- Oversee contract labour management, amenities, and grievance handling.
- Represent plant in dealings with labour authorities.
- Ensure the industrial safety, health and general cleanliness at the plant as per the guideline
- People
- Provide subordinates with the required growth opportunities to ensure their development for higher- level roles.
- Coordinate with Training function to ensure own and subordinates’ capability development in alignment with the requirements of HNGIL.
- Retention planning of the team.
Required Skills & Competencies
Minimum 8 years or more of HR/IR experience in a manufacturing environment, of which 3 years in a lead/head role. Strong IR exposure and experience dealing with unions, Knowledge of HR processes, labour laws, and compliance requirements
Qualifications
MBA/PGDM in HR or equivalent
