Plant Manager Tasks, Responsibilities, Competences Objective / purpose of the function
  • Managerial responsibility and continuous development for the Production & Supply Chain organization (people and processes) in Goshen, NY (Source–Make–Deliver functions)
  • Responsible to maintain and develop production equipment, installations and facility
  • Responsible to plan and manage projects for the production site Gohen
  • Manages & oversees all activities related to the plant in Goshen, NY
  • Establishes and manages relationships to local community authorities and relevant industry associations
  • Continuous improvement of the Supply Chain in Goshen, NY and US, support for AMERICAS
  • Act as coordinator between sales and supply chain
  • Ensures procurement of materials required for production in the right quantity and quality at the right time and at cost-effective prices
  • Accountable for the manufacturing and delivery of products ex-factory / external warehouse at cost, on time
  • Ensure that company policies and procedures are followed at all times

    Processes
  • Ensures & coordinates plant operations
  • Process co-owner of PLAN (Planning), MAKE (Manufacturing) and DELIVER (Shipping) process
  • Responsible to develop the PLAN, MAKE & DELIVER processes & plant in Goshen
  • Responsible for accuracy of ERP data related to the processes
  • Responsible for supplier management & evaluation, in alignment with Global SOURCE and onsite SHE / Quality function
  • Executes inventory policies to reliably supply Sales organizations with locally produced as well as imported products and accessories
  • Regularly interfaces with Product Management and Sales leaders
  • Plant & Project Management
  • Responsible for plant facilities, building(s), grounds, equipment, company vehicles
  • Ensures curative and preventive maintenance of the plant
  • Responsible for project management to develop the plant, in alignment with overall, global targets
  • Coordination of internal & external parties & interfaces
  • Safety, Health, and Environment
  • Responsible for regulatory compliance (EPA, DEC, ISO, OSHA, State regulations, local code enforcement)

  • Ensures training & education of Supply Chain associates (SOURCE, MAKE and DELIVER functions) and SHE responsible
  • Interviews and manages introduction / training of new hires

  • Acts as active member of the Goshen Management Team

  • Requirements
  • Degree (BS) as Chemical Engineer, Naval Engineer, Material Processing Engineer or related
  • 3+ years Production and ideally Supply Chain and Planning responsibility for a chemical production or related experience and track record in similar industries e.g. responsibility for a food, pharmaceutical, pulp & paper or oil & gas production plant
  • Sound technical understanding and knowledge of the statutory provision and regulatory requirements related to manufacturing processes, storage and transportation of chemicals goods
  • Sound understanding, experience and knowledge of plant maintenance / preventive maintenance
  • Sound project management & stakeholder management skills:
  • Ability to plan, organize, and execute multiple projects simultaneously
  • Expertise in developing project timelines, resource allocation, and risk management
  • Strong skills in budgeting, scheduling, and progress tracking
  • Proficiency in contractor management, including selection, negotiation, and performance monitoring
  • Skilled in stakeholder communication and alignment, ensuring transparency and timely updates
  • Experience in cross-functional coordination and managing dependencies between projects
  • Strong organizational & leadership skills:
  • Lead by example and foster a culture of accountability
  • Ability to manage internal stakeholders effectively
  • Enhance collaboration between departments to achieve common goals
  • Drive team alignment and engagement across functions
  • Excellent capabilities with MS Office tools. User knowledge of ERP and experience with the introduction of new ERP systems is a plus
  • Languages: English, German a plus
  • International experience a plus
  • Experience in process improvement methods such as Lean Six Sigma Green belt a plus. Same for product transfers to the US
  • Personality: Strong can-do mentality, results oriented, self-starter, proactive, holistically-thinking, team player with strong entrepreneurial spirit and the (internal) customer in mind for all activities
    Full-time onsite function. Residency in greater Goshen area is a must

    Salary- $150,000 -$170,000
