About the Role
 
Curtin University is seeking an experienced and motivated Platform Administrator/Developer to join our Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) team. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to the continual improvement of Curtin’s ServiceNow platform - enhancing capability, performance, and user experience across the University.
 
Working closely with the Product Owner, ServiceNow, you will ensure our ServiceNow platform is stable, efficient, and aligned with Curtin’s guiding principles. You will be involved in both administration and development activities, ensuring solutions meet acceptance criteria and deliver real value to our stakeholders.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Platform Administration

  • Maintain platform stability and usability across all environments
  • Monitor performance, identify issues, and implement remediation
  • Provide incident and request support
  • Lead platform upgrades
  • Manage instance security and access controls
  • Confirm technical design and integration requirements for data exchange

Platform Development

  • Design, configure, and develop platform applications and services
  • Deliver new functionality and support the full development lifecycle
  • Ensure alignment with Service Management guiding principles
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

You will also actively engage in Curtin’s team culture, modelling our mindsets, values, and collaborative ways of working.

You are a proactive, solutions-focused ICT professional who enjoys working in a dynamic team and delivering quality outcomes. You will bring:
 
Essential

  • Completion of a degree in ICT or equivalent experience and/or training
  • Experience administering and configuring the ServiceNow platform
  • Proficiency in JavaScript or similar languages
  • Understanding of web APIs and integrations
  • Broad knowledge of IT systems and software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong organisational skills with a focus on outcomes

Desirable

  • ServiceNow and/or ITIL Foundation certification

Role Requirements:

  • As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.
