As an API Management Platform Engineer II, you will contribute to the design, configuration, and operation of McDonalds enterprise API platforms. This is a hands-on technical role focused on building, supporting, and optimizing API gateway and integration services under the guidance of senior engineers and architects.
You will work closely with application teams, platform engineers, and security partners to ensure APIs are reliable, secure, and scalable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and support enterprise API gateways and related platform services.
- Implement API standards, versioning, and access controls in alignment with platform guidelines.
- Assist in automating API onboarding, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes.
- Monitor API performance, availability, and traffic patterns; troubleshoot integration issues.
- Support incident resolution related to API failures, latency, or configuration issues.
- Participate in design discussions, documentation, and platform improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including application engineering, security, and operations.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 47 years of overall professional experience with 3+ years in platform engineering, API development, backend engineering, or DevOps roles.
- Hands-on experience with REST APIs and API management platforms (e.g., Apigee, MuleSoft, AWS API Gateway, GCP API Gateway).
- Basic understanding of API security concepts such as OAuth, JWT, and rate limiting.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, scripting, and infrastructure or platform automation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
