Job Description
Platform Engineer:

Design, build, and operate cloud-native infrastructure and delivery pipelines using Kubernetes, Terraform, and GitHub Actions. Own environments end-to-end and keep them reliable, secure, and automated.

Requirements

Core Responsibilities

Kubernetes
  • Build and operate Kubernetes clusters (EKS / AKS)
  • Configure:
  1. Ingress (NGINX / ALB / Application Gateway)
  2. Autoscaling (HPA, cluster autoscaler)
  3. Resource limits, namespaces, and network policies
  • Deploy workloads using Helm
  • Debug production issues (pods, networking, DNS, scaling)

Infrastructure as Code
  • Provision cloud infrastructure using Terraform
  • Write reusable modules for:
  1. Networking (VPC/VNet, subnets, security groups)
  2. Kubernetes and supporting services
  • Manage state, environments, and versioning safely
  • Apply changes using plan/apply discipline
CI/CD (GitHub Actions)
  • Build CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
  • Automate:
  1. Application builds and deployments
  2. Terraform validation and deployment
  3. Kubernetes rollouts
  • Implement branch protections, approvals, and environment controls
Cloud & Runtime
  • Work directly with AWS or Azure
  • Configure IAM / Entra roles, secrets, and access controls
  • Manage container images and registries
  • Ensure environments are reproducible and cost-aware
Observability & Ops
  • Implement logging, metrics, and alerting
  • Troubleshoot live issues and production incidents
  • Perform root cause analysis and preventative fixes
Required Technical Skills

Must Have
  • Kubernetes (hands-on, production)
  • Terraform (modules, state, environments)
  • GitHub Actions (CI/CD pipelines)
  • Docker & container fundamentals
  • Linux & networking basics
  • AWS or Azure
Good to Have
  • Helm
  • GitOps (Flux / Argo CD)
  • Prometheus / Grafana / ELK
  • Bash or Python scripting
  • Security hardening and secrets management
Engineering Expectations
  • Writes clean, version-controlled infrastructure code
  • Automates first, avoids manual changes
  • Comfortable debugging under pressure
  • Understands trade-offs (speed vs reliability vs cost)
  • Documents decisions and patterns briefly but clearly
