2. Position Overview Position Title

3. Role Summary
The PLC Automation Engineer will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of industrial automation projects, including system design, PLC programming, SCADA development, VFD and servo integration, site commissioning, troubleshooting, and post-handover support.
The role demands strong hands-on expertise in PLC platforms such as ABB, Siemens, Delta, Mitsubishi, and Omron, along with SCADA systems including Siemens SCADA, ABB SCADA, and zenon. The engineer must have deep working knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, OPC UA, MQTT, and experience in deploying protocol gateways for multi-vendor system integration.
This position requires close coordination with electrical teams, instrumentation engineers, panel manufacturing units, OEMs, and end customers, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and as per quality standards.
4. Key Responsibilities4.1 PLC System Design & Programming
- Design, develop, program, and test PLC-based automation systems using:

- Develop modular, scalable, and reusable PLC logic aligned with industry best practices
- Implement structured programming methodologies such as:
- Function Blocks
- State machines
- Standardized alarm handling
- Perform logic validation through simulation, FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), and SAT (Site Acceptance Test)
4.2 SCADA & HMI Development
- Develop and configure SCADA systems, including:
- Siemens SCADA
- ABB SCADA
- zenon SCADA / HMI
- Design intuitive, operator-friendly HMI screens with:
- Process graphics
- Alarm management
- Trends and historical data
- Implement:
- User access management
- Audit trails (especially for pharma & regulated industries)
- Data logging and reporting
- Integrate SCADA with PLCs using industrial communication protocols
4.3 VFD & Servo Integration
- Configure, commission, and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) including:
- ABB VFD
- Siemens VFD
- Mitsubishi VFD
- Integrate and commission Servo drives and motion control systems, including:
- Siemens Servo
- Inovance Servo
- Perform parameterization, tuning, and optimization for:
- Speed control
- Torque control
- Positioning applications
- Coordinate with mechanical teams to ensure smooth motion performance
4.4 Industrial Communication & Networking
- Design and implement industrial communication architectures using:
- Modbus (RTU / TCP)
- Profibus

- Configure and troubleshoot protocol gateways for:

- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Provide on-site and remote support during:
