About the Role
We’re seeking a skilled Estimator to join a growing commercial contracting team focused on plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems. You’ll play a key role in evaluating project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and supporting the bid process for commercial construction work across multi-family, hospitality, senior living, and light commercial projects.
What You’ll Do
Perform detailed take-offs and estimates for commercial plumbing and mechanical projects
Review drawings, plans, specifications, and addenda to define scope
Solicit, evaluate, and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing
Develop labor and material cost breakdowns
Prepare competitive and accurate bid proposals
Collaborate with project managers, preconstruction, and field teams
Maintain cost databases and historical estimating records
Ensure bids are completed and submitted by deadlines
Participate in value engineering and cost-saving strategies
What You Bring
5-10+ years of commercial estimating experience (plumbing/HVAC/mechanical preferred)
Proficiency with estimating software and take-off tools (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, etc.)
Strong understanding of construction documents and technical drawings
Excellent analytical, mathematical, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented mindset with high accuracy and organizational ability
