Power BI Developer - Senior / Lead

We are seeking a high-level Senior / Lead Power BI Developer to support our client – one of the leading financial institutions in Poland. This is a strategic role where you will have a real impact on how data drives business decisions.Daily duties include designing and implementing advanced analytical solutions using DAX and SQL, creating scalable data models, and providing technical leadership in the Business Intelligence area. This role involves translating complex business requirements into intuitive visual systems (e.g. geoscoring solutions) and ensuring high performance of data-driven solutions. The position offers a hybrid work model with an office in Warsaw or remote work options.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Power BI Developer, Data Analyst, or BI Architect.


• Expert knowledge of Power BI, including advanced DAX and Power Query (M).


• Strong SQL skills for independent data extraction, transformation, and optimization.


• Practical experience in data modeling and designing star schemas/snowflake schemas.


• Experience with Geospatial Analytics (e.g., geoscoring, mapping large datasets).


• Analytical thinking and the ability to translate complex data into clear business insights.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing end-to-end Power BI solutions, from data acquisition to advanced visualization.


• Leading the technical implementation of strategic projects, such as credit risk geoscoring.


• Optimizing existing reports and data models to ensure maximum performance and scalability.


• Collaborating closely with Data Engineers and Stakeholders to define data requirements and architecture.


• Setting BI standards and best practices for the organization.


• Maintaining and updating technical documentation related to the BI environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in the financial or banking sector (though we value cross-industry experience).


• Knowledge of Azure Cloud environment (Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Databricks).


• Familiarity with Python or R for advanced statistical analysis.


• Experience in leading technical teams or mentoring junior developers.


• Knowledge of Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
