Job Description
**Purpose and Scope:**
Repair machinery or mechanical equipment.
**Essential Responsibilities:**
**1.** Examine machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble.
**2.** Dismantle or partly dismantle machines and performing repairs that mainly involve the use of hand tools in scraping and fitting parts.
**3.** Replace broken or defective parts with items obtained from stock; ordering the production of a replacement part by a machine shop or sending the machine to a machine shop for major repairs; preparing written specifications for major repairs or for the production of parts ordered from machine shops.
**4.** Reassemble machines and make all necessary adjustments for operation.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
**Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:**
