Practice Head – Cloud & Infrastructure Services (Public Cloud | Private Cloud | SRE/Automation)

Role Purpose
The Practice Head will build, lead, and scale Teceze’s Cloud & Infrastructure Services business with full ownership of P&L, revenue growth, gross margin, and delivery excellence across:
- Public Cloud: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud (GCP)
- Private Cloud: VMware, Open Stack (implementation + managed services)
- SRE / Platform Engineering: automation, reliability, observability, CI/CD, Ia C, Fin Ops enablement
This role requires a leader who has been hands-on earlier in their career, understands architecture and operations deeply, and can drive GTM + solutions + delivery + practice capability end-to-end.
Key Responsibilities
1) P&L Ownership and Practice Growth
- Own practice P&L: revenue, cost, GM%, utilization, bench, subcontractor spend, tool/licensing costs.
- Define annual operating plan, quarterly targets, pricing strategy, margin guardrails, and delivery model.
- Establish a scalable structure for pre-sales, projects, managed services, and Co E.
- Drive predictable growth through pipeline governance and recurring revenue expansion.
2) Sales Leadership (New Logo + Farming)
- Own the sales number for the tower (direct + supported sales).
- Partner with Sales/Account teams to build account plans, white-space analysis, and conversion plays.
- Lead deal shaping: discovery, solution positioning, commercials, staffing, and risk assumptions.
- Engage CXO/IT leadership in customers for cloud strategy, modernization roadmap, managed services transformation.
- Build and maintain a strong partner ecosystem (AWS/Azure/GCP/VMware/OEMs).
Typical offerings to drive:
- Cloud assessment & roadmap, landing zone, migration factory, modernization, container/Kubernetes platform
- Managed cloud operations (24x7), SRE transformation, Fin Ops optimization
- DR/BCP, security & compliance alignment, observability/NOC/SOC integration
3) Delivery Ownership (Projects + Managed Services)
- Accountable for end-to-end delivery, including scope, quality, schedule, SLAs, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
- Establish delivery governance: QBRs, risk management, escalation, change control, acceptance criteria.
- Build strong SOPs/runbooks, operational metrics, and continuous improvement practices.
- Ensure audit readiness and compliance for regulated customers where applicable.
4) Public Cloud Leadership (AWS | Azure | GCP)
- Define reference architectures for:
- Landing zones, identity, network, governance, security baseline
- Migration patterns (rehost/refactor/replatform), hybrid connectivity
- Cloud-native operations, backup/DR, cost controls
- Drive adoption of Ia C and standard automation patterns (Terraform/Cloud Formation/Bicep).
- Create packaged solutions: “Landing Zone in 2 Weeks”, “Migration Factory”, “Managed Cloud Ops”.
5) Private Cloud (VMware | Open Stack)
- Lead solutioning and execution for:
- Private cloud design and deployment (VMware v Sphere/NSX/v SAN, Open Stack)
- Capacity planning, multi-tenancy, chargeback/showback, self-service portals
- Integration with ITSM/CMDB, monitoring, backup, DR
- Support customers migrating from traditional infra to private cloud + hybrid cloud models.
6) SRE / Automation / Platform Engineering Capability
- Build SRE service lines:
- Reliability engineering, SLO/SLI frameworks, incident/problem management, error budgets
- Observability (metrics/logs/traces), APM, alert rationalization
- Release engineering, CI/CD reliability, automated rollbacks
- Drive automation-first approach:
- Ia C + configuration management + policy-as-code
- Auto-remediation, self-healing, Chat Ops where relevant
- Standardize toolchain recommendations (examples):
- Terraform, Ansible, Git Hub/Git Lab/Jenkins, Argo CD
- Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/Opensearch, Datadog/New Relic (as per customer)
- Service Now/Jira for ITSM integration
7) Practice Building: Co E, People, Skills, IP
- Hire and grow a strong team: cloud architects, SRE leads, platform engineers, delivery managers.
- Build competency matrices, certification plans, and learning paths.
- Create reusable assets: reference designs, accelerators, automation libraries, migration playbooks.
- Establish bid excellence: estimation templates, So W/MSA inputs, RACI, SLA catalogs.
8) Governance, Security, and Fin Ops (Cross-cutting)
- Ensure security-by-design: IAM, network segmentation, encryption, key management, logging, vulnerability mgmt.
- Embed Fin Ops practices: cost allocation, tagging standards, budgets, anomaly detection, unit economics.
- Ensure compliance support for ISO, SOC2, PCI, HIPAA, or local regulatory requirements where applicable.
Success Metrics (KPIs)
- Revenue & GM% achievement for practice
- Pipeline coverage and win rate; growth in recurring managed services revenue
- Delivery KPIs: on-time/on-budget, SLA attainment, incident reduction, MTTR improvement
- Customer success: CSAT/NPS, renewals, expansions
- Utilization, bench control, certification counts, attrition control
- Automation coverage (% infra as code, % automated deployments, % auto-remediation)
Required Experience & Skills
Leadership / Business
- 15–20+ years in Infrastructure/Cloud; 5+ years leading a practice or large tower with financial accountability.
- Proven P&L ownership (or strong cost/margin responsibility with clear revenue ownership).
- Strong background in enterprise sales support / pre-sales / solutioning and service delivery leadership.
- Experience building teams, GTM offerings, and scaling managed services.
Technical (Hands-on background expected)
- Deep understanding of:
- AWS/Azure/GCP architecture & operations (networking, IAM, compute, storage, security)
- Private cloud: VMware and/or Open Stack implementation & ops
- SRE principles, observability, automation, Ia C, CI/CD
- Strong foundation in:
- Linux, networking, virtualization, containers/Kubernetes (preferred)
