Job Title: Practice Head – VLSI Engineering & Client Solutions

Experience: 15+ years in VLSI / Semiconductor Engineering (with leadership experience)
Role Overview
The Practice Head – VLSI Engineering & Client Solutions will lead the VLSI engineering practice, drive technical excellence, and act as a key client-facing leader. This role combines deep VLSI domain expertise , practice ownership , and customer engagement , ensuring successful delivery of end-to-end VLSI solutions while supporting business growth and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Practice & Technical Leadership
- Own and lead the VLSI Engineering practice , including RTL design, verification, physical design, DFT, and SoC integration.
- Define technology roadmap, best practices, tools, and methodologies for the VLSI practice.
- Ensure high-quality delivery across multiple client programs and internal projects.
- Review architectures, design approaches, and critical technical decisions.
- Mentor and grow senior technical leaders, architects, and engineering teams.
Client Engagement & Solutions
- Act as a primary technical interface for key customers and strategic accounts.
- Engage with clients to understand requirements and translate them into scalable VLSI solutions .
- Lead technical discussions, design reviews, and solution presentations with client stakeholders.
- Support pre-sales activities , including solutioning, effort estimation, proposals, and RFP responses.
- Build long-term client relationships and establish the company as a trusted VLSI partner.
Delivery & Program Oversight
- Oversee end-to-end project delivery, ensuring adherence to quality, schedule, and cost commitments .
- Work closely with program managers to mitigate risks and resolve technical challenges.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer-specific processes.
Business & Practice Growth
- Contribute to business development , identifying opportunities for new engagements and practice expansion.
- Drive capability building in emerging areas such as advanced nodes, low-power design, AI/ML accelerators, automotive, or high-speed interfaces .
- Support hiring strategy, workforce planning, and competency development.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in VLSI / SoC design lifecycle (RTL, verification, synthesis, P&R, timing, DFT).
- Solid understanding of advanced technology nodes , low-power design, and performance optimization.
- Experience with industry-standard EDA tools (Synopsys, Cadence, Mentor).
- Ability to provide architectural guidance and technical problem-solving .
Leadership & Client Skills
- Proven experience leading large, multi-disciplinary VLSI teams .
- Strong client-facing experience , including direct interaction with global customers.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to bridge technical teams and business stakeholders .
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering / VLSI / Semiconductor-related field .
Preferred Experience
- Experience in semiconductor services or product engineering companies .
- Exposure to automotive, networking, consumer electronics, or AI/compute domains .
- Experience handling global clients and distributed teams.
