Practice Leader – MDM & Data Governance

Role Summary

We are looking for a seasoned industry leader to own and scale our MDM & Data Governance practice. This role carries full P&L accountability, shapes enterprise data strategy, and positions the firm as a market thought leader in modern, cloud-native, AI-augmented data management.

You will operate at the intersection of business outcomes, architecture depth, partner ecosystems, and emerging agentic AI capabilities. In short: set the vision, build the machine, and make it commercially successful.

Key Responsibilities

P&L Leadership

• Own P&L for the MDM & Data Governance practice, including revenue growth, margins, pricing, and cost optimization.
• Define and execute a multi-year practice growth strategy aligned with enterprise data modernization trends.
• Build repeatable offerings, accelerators, and IP to move the practice from project-led to platform-led.

Client & Architecture Leadership

• Lead C-suite and enterprise-level architecture conversations on:
• Master Data Management (Customer, Product, HCP, Supplier, etc.)
• Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata, Lineage, and Privacy
• Cloud data platforms and modern data estates
• Act as the executive escalation point for complex, multi-country, multi-domain MDM programs.
• Translate business problems into scalable, cloud-native data architectures.

Agentic AI & Intelligent Master Data Management & Governance

• Embed Agentic AI across MDM and Data Governance use cases
• Shape the roadmap for AI-augmented governance operating models, not just tools.

Partnerships & Ecosystem

• Establish and grow strategic partnerships with leading technology vendors and hyperscalers in MDM and governance platforms space.
• Drive joint GTM motions, co-innovation initiatives, and partner-led pipelines.

Team Building & Capability Development

• Build a lean and high-performing team across architecture and innovation.
• Define role archetypes, competency models, and career paths for MDM & Governance talent.
• Provide thought leadership, and innovation.

Thought Leadership & Market Presence

• Be the external face of the practice—publishing POVs, whitepapers, and speaking at industry forums.
• Shape the firm’s narrative on modern MDM and AI-driven governance.
• Partner with sales and marketing to position the practice as a strategic growth engine.

Experience & Qualifications

Required

• 15+ years of experience in enterprise cloud data management, with deep focus on MDM and Data Governance.
• A techno-functional leader with deep domain experience across commercial and clinical in Life Sciences.
• Proven track record of building and scaling a practice with P&L ownership.
• Hands-on experience designing and leading large-scale MDM and governance transformations.
• Strong expertise in cloud data architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to lead senior client conversations and influence C-suite stakeholders.
• Experience building and managing partner ecosystems and alliances.

Strongly Preferred

• Exposure to AI-driven data management, agentic workflows, or intelligent automation.
• Experience in creating industry-specific MDM solutions, data governance solutions and process designs especially in Life Sciences industry
