Position Summary
The incumbent will perform clerical functions, contribute to a respectful work environment, and participate in workload sharing and coverage within the team. This role is scheduled for a two‑week rotation that includes evening and weekend shifts, eligible for evening and weekend working premiums under the CUPE agreement.

Week 1
- Monday – 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM
- Tuesday – 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM
- Wednesday – 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM
- Thursday – 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM
- Friday – 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM
- Saturday – 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- Sunday – 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Week 2
- Monday – OFF
- Tuesday – OFF
- Wednesday – OFF
- Thursday – OFF
- Friday – OFF
- Saturday – OFF
- Sunday – OFF
Experience
- Minimum of two years related healthcare experience
- Experience with email and computerized calendars
- Working knowledge of electronic medical records is preferred
- Knowledge of maintaining medical records, filing systems, compiling statistics, and processing personal health information
- Switchboard/receptionist experience
Education
- High school completion meeting Manitoba standards
- Successful completion of a Unit Clerk Course and/or a Medical Office Assistant Course
- Basic Life Support certification recognized by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (or similar CPR certification)
- Combination of education and experience may be considered
Qualifications
- Keyboarding speed of 40 words per minute
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and build respectful relationships with team and clients
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative
- Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent command of the English language (written and oral)
- Problem-solving ability in a fast‑paced interdisciplinary team environment
- Experience with specimen collection, medical supply management, and statistical data collection
- Experience working with diverse cultures
- Confidentiality maintenance
- Planning and organizing heavy workload under pressure to meet deadlines
- Respect for diversity and openness to diverse perspectives
- Criminal Record Check and Child/Elder Abuse Registry required
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Willingness to work weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift moderate weights and walk moderate distances
- Ability to function effectively in a fast‑moving environment with frequent interruptions
