Principal Application Engineer – High-Voltage GaN Technology

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Principal Application Engineer to join our team, specializing in high-voltage GaN (Gallium Nitride) technology. Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership & Product Ownership : Serve as the technical lead for high-voltage GaN products , guiding architecture decisions, defining design standards, and ensuring technical excellence across projects.
  • Product Definition & Strategy : Lead the definition of new high-voltage GaN products, aligning technical roadmaps with customer needs and industry trends.
  • Reference Design & Evaluation Board Development : Architect and develop innovative reference designs and evaluation boards to showcase product capabilities and accelerate customer adoption.
  • Customer Engagement & Technical Advocacy : Act as a trusted technical advisor for key customers, providing expert support, conducting on-site troubleshooting, and influencing design-in decisions.
  • Mentorship & Team Development : Coach and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Technical Documentation & Thought Leadership : Create high-quality technical collateral—application notes, white papers, and design guides—that position you as a thought leader in the industry.
  • Feedback Integration : Relay customer insights to the product team to shape future product definitions and improvements.

    • Qualifications
  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred
  • 12+ years of experience in power electronics, with at least 4+ years in high-voltage GaN technology .
  • Proven track record of leading technical teams or projects and delivering complex solutions.
  • Hands-on experience in AC-DC, DC-DC, and DC-AC power electronics for applications such as industrial, datacenter, solar, energy storage, or automotive.
  • Strong fundamentals in power electronics and high-voltage GaN technology.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence technical decisions and inspire teams.
  • Nice to have: Experience in power electronics firmware development.

  • Proficiency in Altium schematic design and PCB layout.
  • Experience with simulation tools (Simetrix, Simplis, PLECS, LTSpice).
  • Knowledge of magnetic component development (inductors, transformers).
