We are currently seeking a Principal Architect - Connected Mobility Platform & TCU Integration to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).

Role Overview

Lead design, prototyping, and implementation of a secure connected mobility ecosystem. Define technical foundation for Vehicle Integration Platforms (VIP), Telematics Control Units (TCU), and Network Access Devices (NAD) enabling rapid, secure deployment across multiple OEM platforms.

Core mandate : Create reference architectures and functional prototypes that translate OEM requirements into production-ready solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Architecture & Design

  • Design end-to-end reference architecture: vehicle edge, connectivity layer, cloud backend, application services
  • Define integration patterns, interface specs, and data models for TCU/VIP/NAD enabling OEM customization
  • Architect cloud-native platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) for vehicle data ingestion, real-time processing, OTA updates, remote diagnostics
  • Establish security-by-design: zero-trust architecture, secure boot chains, encryption key management, threat modeling
  • Create API frameworks and microservices architectures for modularity and rapid deployment
  • Define edge computing strategies balancing vehicle processing, fog nodes, and cloud resources
  • Prototype Development & Validation

  • Build functional prototypes demonstrating secure vehicle-to-cloud connectivity, OTA updates, remote diagnostics, emergency services
  • Establish HIL/SIL simulation environments for validation without full vehicle access
  • Design lab infrastructure: test benches, network simulators (4G/5G), security testing tools, CI/CD pipelines
  • Evaluate and integrate AI/ML based software validation platforms and their integration
  • Develop technical feasibility studies assessing cost, performance, security, time-to-market
  • TCU & Connectivity Integration

  • Define TCU hardware/software architecture ensuring VIP and NAD compatibility
  • Oversee cellular connectivity (4G/5G), SIM/eSIM provisioning, MVNO platforms (from Transatel for e.g.), network redundancy
  • Architect secure communication protocols between vehicle ECUs, TCU, and cloud services
  • Design vehicle data collection frameworks balancing privacy, data volume, and analytical value
  • Establish OTA update strategies: delta updates, rollback mechanisms, campaign management, fail-safe operations
  • Standards, Compliance & Security (10%)

  • Ensure compliance with UN WP.29 R155/R156, ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434, ASPICE
  • Implement DevSecOps: threat modeling, security testing automation, vulnerability management, incident response
  • Define data privacy and GDPR compliance for vehicle data collection, storage, processing
  • Stay current with SDV, AUTOSAR Adaptive, and V2X standards
  • Required Skills & Experience

    Must-Have

  • 12+ years automotive connectivity ; 5+ years architecting connected vehicle platforms, TCU solutions, or telematics ecosystems
  • Prototype-to-production track record : Delivered 2+ connected vehicle platforms from concept through production launch
  • Deep TCU expertise : Hands-on with TCU hardware/software, VIP frameworks, NAD integration, cellular modules (Qualcomm, Telit, Sierra Wireless)
  • Cloud architecture : Vehicle data platforms on AWS/Azure/GCP using microservices, event-driven architectures, streaming analytics (Kafka, Kinesis)
  • Automotive cybersecurity : Practical implementation of UN WP.29 R155/R156, ISO/SAE 21434, secure OTA, PKI, intrusion detection
  • Connectivity technologies : Expert in 4G/5G networks, eSIM/iSIM, network slicing, QoS, V2X (C-V2X/DSRC)
  • Desired Credentials

  • AUTOSAR Adaptive Platform architecture and implementation
  • Edge computing frameworks (AWS Greengrass, Azure IoT Edge)
  • Vehicle data analytics with ML/AI for predictive maintenance
  • API management platforms (Apigee, Kong, AWS API Gateway)
  • DevOps/MLOps tooling (Terraform, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD)
  • Regulatory certification (PTCRB, GCF, FCC, CE)
  • Software-Defined Vehicle architecture and containerization
