Developer Experience Initiatives (DEI) team is responsible for pioneering the secure rollout and governance of agentic AI development tools across Capital One's engineering organization. We build and maintain the infrastructure, authentication systems, compliance frameworks, and cost optimization strategies that enable thousands of developers to leverage cutting-edge AI coding assistants safely and efficiently. Our team owns the end-to-end lifecycle of AI tool deployments—from proof-of-concept evaluation and security assessments to production rollout, monitoring, and continuous optimization. We work at the intersection of DevOps, FinOps, Security, and AI, collaborating closely with cloud infrastructure teams, security architects, and product engineering groups to ensure seamless, compliant, and cost-effective AI tool adoption. Additionally, we drive cloud cost optimization initiatives across AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure, implementing FinOps best practices that deliver measurable savings while maintaining performance and reliability. Our team also operates within —Capital One's in-house Kubernetes-based platform that empowers model developers and data scientists to run experiments and deploy models to production at scale.What you’ll Do:
  • Lead Agentic AI Tool Rollouts:Design, architect, and manage enterprise-wide deployments of agentic AI coding assistants (Cursor AI, Windsurf, Claude, Code Rabbit, GitHub Copilot, across Capital One's infrastructure, ensuring secure integration, compliance adherence, and seamless user adoption at scale
  • Pioneer Through POCs:Apply a research and experimentation mindset to evaluate emerging agentic AI technologies and infrastructure patterns, rapidly build proof-of-concepts, validate capabilities, and successfully transition solutions from POC to general availability (GA)
  • Build Custom Kubernetes Operators:Extend Kubernetes capabilities by designing and developing custom operators and controllers, manage infrastructure lifecycle, and enable self-service workflows for developers to ease their Deployments.
  • Architect Cost-Optimized Infrastructure:Drive cloud cost optimization initiatives across AWS and Kubernetes environments, implementing FinOps strategies, right-sizing resources, leveraging reserved/spot instances, and delivering measurable cost savings while maintaining performance and reliability
  • Security & Compliance:Strong knowledge of vulnerability management, compliance frameworks, security scanning tools, and implementing security controls in cloud environments
  • Collaborate Across Agile Teams:Work with digital product managers, security architects, platform engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver cloud-based solutions that enable AI-powered development while maintaining Capital One's security and compliance standards
  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology
  • At least 5 years of experience in DevOps Engineering
  • At least 4 years of experience with Cloud Native technologies such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform
  • At least 4 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience deploying and managing AI/LLM-powered development tools in enterprise environments with focus on security, authentication, compliance and scale.
  • 4+ years of experience with container orchestration service - Kubernetes, with hands-on experience building custom operators, CRDS, controllers, or platform extensions.
  • 4+ years of experience driving cloud cost optimization initiatives with demonstrated measurable savings across AWS infrastructure using FinOps principles and tools.
